Finding Your Fit: World-Class Personal Training at FIT Toorak

In the heart of Toorak, one of Melbourne’s most exclusive and tree-lined suburbs, sits a boutique fitness studio dedicated to helping people of all ages and abilities achieve lasting results. FIT Toorak, located at 2C Wallace Avenue, offers a personal, science-backed approach to health and fitness that stands apart from crowded commercial gyms.

Whether you are looking to build strength later in life, recover from injury, improve mobility through yoga, or simply feel stronger and more energetic in everyday life, the team at FIT Toorak specialises in individualised programmes delivered in a supportive, no-nonsense environment.

A Philosophy Built on Results and Respect

FIT Toorak’s guiding principle is simple yet powerful: “If you are not getting better every day, someone else is.” The studio emphasises individualised goals, attention to detail, and a motivating atmosphere that mixes practical science with genuine encouragement.

Clients are not put through generic workout templates. Instead, every programme is designed around the person’s current ability, lifestyle, injury history and long-term aims. The result is training that feels purposeful and sustainable rather than intimidating or overwhelming.

The studio is led by Managing Director and Personal Trainer Penelope Dew, supported by Strength & Conditioning Coach and Personal Trainer Martin Kutek. Together they bring decades of combined experience across general fitness, rehabilitation, athletic performance and nutrition coaching.

Penelope’s background includes work in Queensland with rehabilitation clients and outdoor training before establishing her Melbourne studio. A keen endurance athlete herself (triathlon, trail running and adventure racing), she understands the balance between pushing hard and training intelligently. Martin, originally from the Czech Republic, brings elite-level experience from ice hockey and multi-sport strength and conditioning, with a strong focus on movement quality and injury prevention.

Specialised Programmes for Real Lives

FIT Toorak offers several focused service streams:

Masters Strength Designed specifically for people in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, this programme treats strength training as “exercise medicine.” The goal is to maintain independence, bone density, balance and quality of life. Sessions are carefully progressed and highly supportive.

Personal Training One-to-one and small-group sessions focus on overall health, functional strength and sustainable habits rather than pure aesthetics or competition. Programmes are built around the client’s schedule and preferences.

Pre- and Post-Rehabilitation Injury reduction, pre-surgery preparation and post-injury or post-surgery recovery programmes help clients regain strength, confidence and full range of movement under experienced guidance.

FIT Toorak Yoga Small-group classes (maximum of eight people) combine traditional yoga principles with functional movement patterns and breathing work. The intimate setting allows instructors to tailor sessions to individual flexibility levels and any existing limitations, making yoga accessible and effective rather than intimidating.

Strength & Conditioning For those seeking higher athletic performance, the elite-level programme develops both general physical qualities and sport-specific qualities with a professional, structured approach.

Nutrition Coaching Practical, sustainable daily strategies that fit busy lifestyles. The focus is on building lifelong habits through small, achievable steps rather than restrictive diets.
