Highett Podiatry, Highett: Foot and Ankle Care for All Ages Since 1997

Halfway between Highett Station and Bluff Road, at the Spring Road shops, Highett Podiatry has been looking after local feet for decades. The clinic is at Shops 1 and 2, 407 Highett Road, and describes itself as dedicated to keeping your feet "happy and healthy" for patients of all ages.

A local practice that grew

Kirstine Mann established Highett Podiatry in 1997, after starting her private practice about 18 months earlier in a multidisciplinary clinic in Bluff Road, Hampton East. The practice soon outgrew that space and moved to Highett Road, and later doubled in size by taking over the shop next door. In early 2022 Sophie Young became a partner, and the practice expanded to a second clinic at Mentone. The clinic says it now sees patients from all over metropolitan Melbourne, and some travelling from rural Victoria and interstate.

Care for every stage of life

The services range from general foot care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice through to sports podiatry, gait analysis, orthotics, nail surgery and wound care. For children, the clinic offers a child-friendly service from infancy to adolescence, covering concerns such as flat feet, toe walking, growing pains and heel pain. No referral is needed, and the team says a sticker or a toy is always welcome. Kindergarten screenings are free of charge and include checks of gait, feet, hips, footwear, skin and nails, with parental reports and follow-up.

Orthotics, cyclists and athletes

Highett Podiatry says it is trusted by elite athletes, cyclists, dancers and local sports clubs. Its cycling orthotics are designed to fit a rider's shoe, cleat and pedal setup, to ease pressure and improve alignment. The clinic also stands behind its work with a published results guarantee: custom orthotics carry a comfort guarantee, and nail surgery outcomes are guaranteed too, with details set out on the website.

Care that comes to you

For people who find it hard to get to a clinic, whether through age, illness, surgery recovery or limited mobility, Highett Podiatry offers home visits within a 15 kilometre radius of its Highett and Mentone clinics. Visits are arranged by calling reception, and can be to private homes, retirement villages or residential care. The treatments are the same high-quality care you would receive in the clinic, from nail and skin care to diabetic foot checks and wound care.
