Gill’s Nursery, Cheltenham: Bayside’s Largest Nursery and a Tradition of Quality Since 1920

Found at 266 Bay Road, Cheltenham, with the entrance on Brixton Road, it describes itself as the largest nursery in Bayside, set on almost two acres of tranquil grounds. The nursery's history stretches back to 1920 and its original owners, the Gill brothers and Mr Searle. Today it is run by the Roach family, and Gill's says it still operates in keeping with the original motto: "a tradition of quality and service". The business credits its highly personalised service and first-class merchandise for keeping customers returning time and time again.

Over the years Gill's has traded from a variety of locations, always offering Bayside residents what it calls unique sanctuaries to wander through. The latest chapter sees the nursery as the anchor tenant of the purpose-built Gill's Nursery and Lifestyle Centre.

Plants for every kind of garden

Whether you are creating a veggie patch or a formal garden, Gill's says it has the range to suit all styles and sizes of gardens. The nursery stocks hundreds of lines of quality plants and pots, and as a retail nursery of more than 30 years' standing, it promises quality. At this time of year the shop is full of fresh pots and plants, with plenty of bright flowering plants in bloom.

Gill's is also a landscaping business. For over 20 years, the Gills Landscaping team has been producing beautiful and innovative gardens for residential and commercial clients. The team of fully qualified landscape professionals works to find a stylish solution for outdoor living, whether that is a small courtyard or a complete garden makeover.

Grow Event Space

The centre also includes Grow Event Space, a modern, bright venue abundant in natural light and bursting with lush greenery. With indoor and outdoor spaces, it is used for wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, private dining, parties, workshops, birthdays and social gatherings, a lovely setting for anyone who wants to celebrate among the plants.
