My Pet Treats, Cheltenham: Super Premium Australian Pet Treats Inspired by Dr Remy

In a factory unit at 5/23 Park Road, Cheltenham, a family business is making treats for some very lucky dogs and cats. My Pet Treats offers what it calls super premium Australian pet treats, for all ages and all breeds, and the family works alongside its two fur babies, Chilli and Milo.

The story of Dr Remy

The business began with a dog called Remy. Several years ago, the family adopted the gorgeous four-year-old, spoilt him with love and fed him what they considered the best food and treats from the big pet stores and supermarket shelves. Yet time after time Remy was back at the vet with itchy ears and skin, teary eyes, scratching, hot spots and tummy troubles, and changes in diet and medication did little to help.

So the family started reading the fine print on pet food labels. They quickly concluded that many additives, preservatives, undefined meat meals, fillers, overseas ingredients and low nutritional value were affecting his health and wellbeing. That led them to found My Pet Treats, with a vision to offer super premium Australian pet treats and pet food with industry knowledge, experience and care.

A happy ending

Within weeks, the family says, Remy's health gradually improved. He was finally free of his conditions and went on to live a long and happy life, becoming one of Australia's popular therapy dogs. He earned the title "Dr Remy" for bringing comfort and joy to patients and staff at Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne.

Chilli and Milo carry on

Today the family's dogs Chilli, also known as "Cheeky Chilli", and Milo are healthy and happy therapy dogs themselves. According to My Pet Treats, they bring smiles and happiness to more than 60,000 people every year.

Treats, superfoods and supplements

The range covers treats, superfoods, supplements and health and wellness products. Customers can choose from a K9Health super food range, a health and wellness formula, Australian value packs, and favourites such as shark cartilage and crunchy chicken necks. It is an easy way to show a pet some love, and the treats make a lovely gift for the dog lovers in your life.

On weekdays the family is at its factory and retail showroom in Cheltenham, which offers in-store shopping and kerbside pick-up.
