From The Coal Face – The Hobson Stores Story

Last week we conducted an interview with a local business owner who managers and operates a pub in Sandringham in Melbourne (REFER BELOW). Andrew Watson has managed the Hobson Store Hotel for over thirteen years and he gives a passionate, emotional and insightful look into the issues facing tens of thousands of business owners in Melbourne.

If after watching this you would like to help us to help Andrew and other business owners who find themselves in the same position as him, then this week we have written to every member of our state and federal parliaments to share his story. We believe too many of our politicians are out of touch with the wider public as they are consumed by their partisan politics and bubbles. We are determined to so what we can to ensure that not only are they are aware of theses businesses issues but the damage their policies are causing.

Through these business owners, stories and experiences we will be not only representing their views but acting as an advocate to develop government policies to support them and improve their opportunities as we come out of this government-imposed recession. We are just as determined to ensure we never allow these measures to be introduced every again on the private business sector.

This will be an ongoing effort on our behalf.

Please read this correspondence to understand below and if after reading this correspondence you would like to join us in this effort to support our local businesses then I have placed links below to download the letter I wrote,  with a link to a page that contains downloadable spreadsheets with mp’s emails and contact details.

It’s time to let our political servants both at state and federal level know that we won’t accept further restrictions on our local and small business industries. Instead, we will be outlining ideas to give these businesses EVERY chance of success.

I hope you can join me in making our feelings known.
