McKimm Tennis manages the Royal Avenue Tennis club in Sandringham. You will find tennis programs and competitions catering for all age groups and standards at a venue that has had significant improvements completed to its courts.
Enjoy a casual hit with a friend, play in a competition, organise training for your kids or yourself or just enjoy a coffee while you kids are engaged in positive recreation. At Royal Avenue you will find
- In-house competitions on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings comprising teams of 4 in competitions conducted over two terms culminating in play-offs. These matches commence at 9:30 am following a 9:15 am hit-up.
- For those looking for fitness, Cardio tennis is a feature every morning except on Tuesday
- For juniors new to the sport Hotshots is held every day after school at a cost of $205.00 per term.
- For the even younger kids, McKimm Tennis provides the Tiny Tot program that is targeted towards 3 to 5 yo with more limited numbers in the group.
- For the more serious-minded juniors, Squad tennis training is conducted.
- while group lessons for kids to 10 to 15 years are provided for development training purposes.
- Private lessons in a one on one or a one on two situations.
- Competition tennis is held on Saturday morning against other clubs in the Moorabbin & Districts Association, while in house competitions are conducted Saturday afternoons.
- Competition tennis on Sunday mornings T participating in the Bayside Regional Association competition.
- On Saturday and Sunday afternoon there is the Yonex challenge. Sunday is for more advanced and ambitious kids. Saturday’s challenge is designed more kids just starting out in competition tennis.
- McKimm Tennis also hosts holidays programs between 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on weekdays. During this time clinics and round robins are included under the supervision of Ted’s coaches, while afterwards a Tie Break shoot-out is held between 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and afternoon programs where parents are looking for them are also offered.
- Easter is the only period that holiday programs are not offered.
- Over 55 social groups are held on Monday and Thursday afternoons between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm who are very friendly groups who have been established a Royal Avenue before Ted took over management.
- Membership is available Family – $550.00 Adult $300.00 and child $225.00
- Court Hire: $25.00 per hour
- Each year McKimm Tennis hosts a “Points” Tournament in January that sees 200 to 300 entries in 12 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under age groups.
- Finally, birthday parties are available on Saturday & Sunday afternoons.
